Fooman Pdf Customiser by Fooman Settings

Go to System > Configuration > Pdf Print-outs.

These master settings apply to all pdf document types (Order, Invoice, Shipment and Credit Memo).

Logo for the Pdf (v1.0.0+)

Upload your logo as a gif, jpeg or png file. A good size for the automatic placement versions is 700 pixels wide and 300 pixels high.

  • Automatic Right – the logo will be positioned in the top right corner, scaled to measure 2.5cm high (with width scaled accordingly, depending on the shape/size of the file)
  • Automatic Left – the logo will be positioned in the top left corner, scaled to measure 2.5cm high (with width scaled accordingly, depending on the shape/size of the file)
  • No-Scaling Right – the logo will be positioned in the top right corner, but will not be scaled to fit
  • No-Scaling Left – the logo will be positioned in the top left corner, but will not be scaled to fit
  • Manual – additional options will appear to customise the position and dimensions of the logo. The text on the Pdf will always appear below the logo placement, so it is recommended to place the logo in the top of the page.  

Background Image for Pdf (v1.2.0.13+)

Upload an image that will be used as a background to the pdfs. Images will be scaled (but not distorted) to fit the page.

Display Background Only on First Page (v2.0.5+)

Applicable only if you have uploaded a background image.

When set to No, the image will appear on each page of the pdf document.

When set to Yes, the image will only appear on the first page of the pdf document.

Store Address (v1.0.0+)

Enter your store's address as you would like it to appear in the pdfs.

This field can also be used for free text or {{}} commands such as {{var order.customer_id}}. Refer to  {{}} Commands for more information.

Footer Blocks 1 – 4 (v1.2.0.4+)

You can use up to 4 footer blocks to add custom footer content. The width of the footer blocks will automatically adjust to accommodate 1, 2, 3 or 4 footers in the space available.

You can use simple HTML like <p></p>, <br/> in these fields.To add an image, you could enter something like:

<img src= "http://example.com/path/to/image.jpg"/>

Footers will start where the bottom and side margins are set. For example, if the bottom margin is set to 5, the footer will start at 5 cm above the bottom of the page. Make sure the bottom margin is large enough if you have a lot of text in the footers.

Display Order Barcode (v2.5.3+)

When set to “Yes”, the order number will be displayed as a barcode on all pdf documents (order/invoice/shipment/credit memo), in addition to being displayed as a number.

Display Tracking Number as Barcode (v2.10.0+)

When set to “Yes”, the shipping tracking number will be displayed as a barcode, in addition to being displayed as a number.

Display Row/Subtotal Including Tax (v1.3.0.1+)

When set to No, individual item row subtotals will be displayed as tax exclusive. When set to Yes, individual item row subtotals will be displayed as tax inclusive.

Display Only One Grand Total (v1.3.0.1+)

When set to No, it will have the following effect

When set to Yes, it will have the following effect:

Display Base and Order Currency (v1.1.10+)

When set to No, pdfs will always display the order currency. When set to Yes, pdfs will display the base currency in addition to order currency.

This setting is only effective if Tax > Orders, Invoices, Creditmemos Display Settings > Display Prices (below) is set to “Excluding Tax”. Otherwise, this setting has no effect.

Page Size (v1.0.0+)

Choose from A4 or letter.

Page Orientation (v2.8.4+)

Choose to print pdf’s in either portrait or landscape.

Top/Bottom/Side Margins (v1.0.0+)

Select your preferred top/bottom/side margins in millimeters.

Set the bottom margin large enough to accommodate any footers and the page number. If the bottom margin is set too low, this can result in the footer blocks taking up all available space and there being no room to display the page number.

Use Alternative Layout (v2.3.11+)

When set to Yes, a box will be added around the following headings:

  • Sold to
  • Ship to
  • Payment method
  • Shipping method
  • Column

Font (v1.0.0+)

  • System fonts (Helvetica, Times and Courier) offer the largest potential pdf size reduction (up to 95%), but might not show all international characters (see this FAQ)
  • Dejavu fonts offer broader international character support (UTF-8), but do not offer the same pdf size reduction as system fonts
  • Use the Arial fonts for Chinese, Korean or Japanese markets where the Adobe character package is widely installed. This option also offers up to 90% potential pdf size reduction.

Upload Custom Font (v2.1.12+)

Upload any true type font with a .ttf file extension. Once uploaded, save the configuration. You will then be able to select your font from the drop down box in the “Font” setting above this option. You must have a writable lib/tcpdf/fonts directory to use this setting. Custom fonts do not offer the same potential pdf size reduction as system fonts.

Base Font Size (v1.0.0+)

Change the size of the base font.

  • Headings will be scaled to 133% of the base font
  • Footers and line items will be automatically scaled to 80% of the base font, when the base font size is set to 12 or higher.

Display Page Number (v1.5.6+)

When set to Yes, the page number will automatically be displayed in the centre bottom of the document.

Display Quantity as Full Number (v1.1.5+)

When set to Yes, quantities will be displayed as a full number (eg. 1.0000 units will be displayed as 1 unit). This is the recommended default setting.

When set to No, quantities will be displayed as a partial number (eg. 1.9500 units).

Display Sales Rule Instead of Coupon Code (v2.4.4+)

When set to Yes, the promotion name of any coupon code set up under Promotions > Shopping Cart Price Rules will be displayed on the pdf, instead of the coupon code.

Display Detailed Tax Summary (v1.4.0.0+)

When set to Yes, the pdf document will include details of tax is applied to items.

Display Total Weight (v1.2.0.9+)

When set to Yes, the total weight will be displayed. This setting may be useful for shipping purposes.

Weight Unit (v1.3.0.0+)

Applicable only if the “Display Total Weight” setting is enabled. The default setting is kilograms (kg).

Custom Attribute Column (v2.1.4+)

Select up to five product attributes to display in your pdf documents. Important: Once you have done this, you also need to enable the corresponding custom columns to be shown under the “Columns” setting for each pdf where you want to show custom columns (Order/Invoice/Shipment/Credit Memo).

Display Email Address (v1.3.0.0+)

Displays the customer email address on the pdf.

Barcode Type (v2.1.12+)

If you have chosen to show barcodes under the “Columns” setting for each pdf (Order/Invoice/Shipment/Credit Memo), choose how barcodes will be displayed. The default setting is CODE 39 EXTENDED + CHECKSUM. Ensure that you select the correct barcode type for the SKU you are using, or pdf generation could fail.

Print Order History with Comments (v1.1.11+)

When set to Yes, comments inputted under Sales > Orders > Comment History will be added to the pdf (the comments you see in the back-end order view history).

Digitally Sign Pdf (v1.0.7+)

When set to Yes, your pdf files will be secured with a digital signature to prevent the integrity of the document from being compromised by other parties. Once you have digitally signed the pdf document, no one will be able to alter the document without invalidating it. Your private key will be stored encrypted in the Magento database so please include this in your security considerations. 

Signature (v1.0.7+)

If you have chosen to digitally sign pdfs, enter the contents of your certificate/signature file, including your private key. Include everything from -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- to -----END CERTIFICATE-----

Password of Signature (v1.0.7+)

If you have chosen to digitally sign pdfs, enter the password for the digital signature.

Display Pdf in New Window (v2.0.0 – 2.2.0+)

When set to Yes, pdf documents will be generated in a new window.

Print from Alternative Store (v2.9.7+)

By default, order pdfs will generated from the store where the order was placed. This setting will override this behaviour - for example, by allowing you to print a pdf in English for a German store.
