The font does not display foreign characters correctly

Some fonts will display special foreign characters (eg. Ã, ĕ, Å) as ? 

This happens when the font does not have international character support.

To fix the issue, choose a different font under System > Configuration > Pdf-Printouts. We recommend the Dejavu Sans font as it has broad international character support.
